Admirable! The teacher who has a personalized greeting for each of his students before entering class

Many teachers strive to remember the name of each of their students, but Barry White Jr, has gone a step further. Every morning, this fifth-year teacher at Ashley Park in Charlotte, North Carolina (United States), receive each of his students with a personalized greeting before entering class.

With this ritual, in which Each greeting is unique and personal, adapted to the personality of each child, their students start the day with a smile. For him the main thing is to establish a good relationship with his students, create ties with them so that they feel motivated to learn.

"The most critical component with your students is the relationship you have with them, the harmony you achieve by communicating, because sometimes that relationship can be underestimated or overlooked," White said.

He started doing it with some children at recess and little by little he became infected throughout the school. And seeing how much it meant to them, he decided to do it with his whole class and even children from other classes joined. He has also incorporated something similar to tap in his language classes.

It should be remembered that one of the great educational problems in the city of Charlotte is dropping out of school, so enthusiasm is key for students to feel like going to school every day.

But not everything is dance. Those responsible for the center where he works are delighted with Mr. White, since help kids feel motivated and work hard. "When children know that their teachers care, they are attentive, committed and motivated to succeed," said principal Meaghan Loftus.

A "real influencer"

Just a couple of days ago we were talking about a Blink Learning campaign about real influencers, which aims to vindicate the importance of the figure of the teacher in society.

We talked about what teachers should have for their students to see as a real influencer instead of the Youtubers. What qualities does a teacher need to have children become their "followers", to speak in the same language.

Have a passion for what is taught and do it with passion, stay up to date with tastes and trends, contextualize the proposal of activities, enjoy sharing time and space with children, connect with students sharing experiences, are, among others, those indispensable qualities of a teacher influencer. Definitely, Barry White is one of them.
