The reaction of a 7-week deaf baby upon first hearing

It is not the first time we talked about the wonder that a cochlear implant or hearing aid means for children. Thanks to them, children with hearing impairment can begin to correctly perceive all the auditory stimuli around them and also begin to hear themselves emitting sounds and, consequently, being able to learn to speak.

A couple of years ago we told you the story of a two-year-old boy, and four years ago, that of an eight-month-old baby who touched us all with his nice reaction. What we had never seen before is the reaction of a much smaller baby, in this case of only 7 weeks old (or so they say in Daily Mail), upon hearing for the first time.

As you can see in the video, the baby is sitting on his mother's lap at the moment when the external part of the implant is placed in the hearing aid. At first he complains, it bothers him to be touched and he lets him know. But nevertheless, your expression changes completely when you start hearing the first sounds and the first words of those around you, and smile!

The funny thing is that the video has now come to light, which by the way already has more than 550,000 visits, and the baby, whose name is Lachlan, is already more than two years old, as you can see in Daily Mail. Now he is a happy child and his parents are always on top to help him as much as possible so that he can make a life as normal as possible.

Without a doubt, a sample of how important research and technology is for us, when it is placed at the service of the sick or disabled.
