"Family Thyssen" is the name of a proposal designed for tourists with children from six to 12 years of age that we had already talked about here. On this occasion, it is especially aimed at families who arrive this summer in Madrid and visit the museum's facilities. Without leaving there, you can take a trip through other cities in the world.
The activity takes place between August 1 and September 15, and consists of a tour called “The city for traveling families”. It is most interesting because it is children who invite their parents to Thyssen.
Once inside, everyone will have a very active role in a walk that will begin in a 17th-century painting representing the Museum's surroundings. From there that 'trip' will take place to other cities in the world, in which you can see the transformation of citizens, transport, work in the metropolis, etc; Through the ages of many times.
We want them to learn to contemplate the work of art and unravel the information it contains, encouraging dialogue between the participants and respecting the opinion of the other, with the idea of using art as a tool to understand other cultures and their ways of interpreting the world
"Family Thyssen" is held on Saturdays and Sundays at 11 am in English, and at 12.30 pm in Spanish. The price is 15 euros per child (yes, as you heard: free parents). In addition there are discounts of 15 percent for large families and free from the third child prior accreditation.
