Toys 'R' Us removes small appliances from its toy catalog

The OCU has denounced it and Toys 'R' Us has been forced to remove three small appliances from its toy catalog at the request of the Community of Madrid.

Since they are not toys, but electric cooking appliances, the consumer association warned of the risk that comes with a child to manipulate any device connected to the electric current, and the burns that can cause the high temperatures they reach (of 150º).

Is about a popcake factory, a donut factory and a chocolate fountain with more toy appearance than anything else, but they are a mini version of an appliance that we can find in any kitchen. They are very easy to open and outside they have points that also reach very high temperatures, with the consequent danger to the little ones.

The toy chain was then forced to remove them from its toy catalog as well as from the toy section of the stores to place them in the electrical appliances section. You are also required to include the notice that these products should never be used without adult supervision.

Beyond what sector of advertising, it is good that they are advertised as electronic devices and not as toys, the important thing is that if we buy from our children any of these appliances to introduce them into culinary art, dWe must teach them to use them with caution and always with the help of an adult.
