A woman is discriminated against for breastfeeding in a mall and her husband records it on video

It has happened again. A woman went discriminated against for breastfeeding in a mall and her husband decided to record it to have the scene documented, just in case she might need the video later.

It happened in Burleson, Texas, where the woman and her husband waited with their 11-day-old baby for her oldest daughter to finish a dance class. The baby asked for a breast, of course, the mother gave it to him, of course, they invited him to cover his chest or to breastfeed the baby somewhere else, as it is not logical, and now the video has already been seen by more than a million people.

As you can see in the video, Lucy Eades, the mother, is with her baby at the breast, while an employee at the mall explains the reasons why she should cover herself and why she should breastfeed elsewhere. The mother, knowledgeable about the laws of the state of Texas, explains that "It's state law, can I breastfeed my covered child or not?".

And you're right, Texas passed a law in 1995 that Women can breastfeed wherever they are authorized to be, that is, where the mother can stay, the baby can be with her and be breastfed.

Precisely for that reason, at the end of the video, when the husband loses his patience, he tells her that "call the police or leave us alone". In fact, as they explain, the video is the recording of the second time I reproached him for breastfeeding in public, because before, the same employee, had had a talk with them.

After what happened the city of Burleson issued a statement offering all its support to Lucy Eades, recalling the aforementioned law: "A mother has the right to breastfeed her baby anywhere."

The public breastfeeding controversy is a recurring theme that will continue to happen until it is a normalized act, for which it is possible that months, years or perhaps decades pass, when our next generation sees as normal to breastfeed a baby in front of the rest as to caress or stubborn. Hopefully that time comes sooner than later.
