This year 2013, too We turn off the light today Saturday March 23 between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. with the aim of achieving environmental conservation. As every year, the initiative is promoted by the NGO WWF and aims to encourage citizens, businesses, municipalities and educational centers to participate in the citizen initiative Earth Hour.

It is a veteran initiative, it is now seven years old, and every year it is more successful. Thus, hundreds of millions of people from all over the world join their voices this day, making Earth Hour a great campaign of mobilization and participation.

Last year, more than 7,000 cities in 150 countries turned off the lights of their main monuments and representative buildings. This year, the message is in favor of being more efficient and self-sufficient in the use of energy, and promoting clean energies to achieve, in this way, reduce the level of CO2 emissions of the planet.

In Spain, the lights of such representative buildings as La Giralda in Seville, the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, the walls of Lugo and Ávila, the aqueduct of Segovia, the Sagrada Familia and the Palace of Montjuic in Barcelona, ​​the Alhambra, will be off Generalife and Palace of Carlos V of Granada.

We encourage you to collaborate with this initiative, because there are many ways to participate. The campaign can be supported by disseminating it, participating in round tables, rap workshops, children's activities, and even being part of a mass dance.
