Babies & Mums Fair: we were there

As I announced a few days ago, yesterday I attended the Babies & Mums Fair in Madrid which will also be open today to the public from 10 to 20 hours.

Although it is the VIII Edition of the Fair, it is the first year that I have gone which prevents me from comparing it with other editions, but in general my first impression is that I have found it good, beautiful and varied.

Although yes, the space (a small pavilion) is a bit small when everyone goes with carts with children, although there is a parking lot to leave the cart in exchange for a baby carrier, most do not use it. That, added to the queues that are generated to receive product samples, complicates circulation a bit.

But well, with the exception, let's go to the most important in general. What can be seen and what can be done? What brands are there and what's new?

The main brands related to the world of the baby are present, especially those of feeding but it has surprised me not to see other very important ones such as Dodot or Prenatal.

Nestlé sponsors and manages a large space called Baby's restaurant where there are tables, high chairs and microwaves to heat the pots and porridge that are offered for free.

Nutribén together with Solán de Cabras sponsor The Breastfeeding Corner, a place with comfortable armchairs so that moms can sit there to quietly breastfeed their babies and equipped with everything necessary in case they want to prepare the bottle.

Of course, as for infant food brands, you could not miss Hero Baby and Danone with their ClubPadres de Mi Primer Danone.

For its part, Mustela has a large space dedicated to infant massage where together with the Spanish Association of Infant Massage (AEMI) offers 30-minute sessions where by taking turns parents can learn to massage their babies. It is a very good initiative in which it is worth participating because in addition to babies enjoying a lot, the session is very well explained by a child massage specialist. In the next few days I will offer you some images.

Eryplast sponsors the baby care area, a place with changing tables where you can make a diaper change using the brand's products.

The lectures are given in the Parent Forum, where lectures and advice are given on various topics such as caring for the baby during the first months, breastfeeding, the use of the pacifier, the development of the child's defenses, recovery after childbirth, feeding and child sleep.

For older babies or for siblings of small babies there are various entertainments as an inflatable castle, face paint, painting workshops, storytelling and for the most competitive a crawling track to participate in races sponsored by Difrax, a Dutch brand of products that I loved that I will talk about later, which together with two midwives offers muscle stretching sessions for parents to make their babies.

Nor did the brands of children's furniture, gifts and baskets, childcare stores both online and physical, baby clothes and the carriage sector represented by brands such as Bébécar or Asalvo, where I found the revelation product of the fair (ah ... es a surprise)

A very relevant presence have had the stem cell conservation banks of the umbilical cord where you could see enough people asking. There are the best known companies such as Crio Cord, Secuvita, Bioteca and VidaCord de Sanitas.

In general, the Fair is all about this. I liked it, it is very varied, it seemed well organized, I had a good time with the family, but if I had something to criticize it is the space, that next year it would not be bad if the aisles were wider. As for the subject, I would have liked more content about pregnancy and childbirth.

In the following days I will continue telling you, in more detail, about the main novelties that I have found.
