Stamping with potatoes

Just as a few days ago Elda gave us the idea of children using the cork of wine bottles to stamp, I remembered something that I loved to do as a child: paint with potatoes.

It is a classic of crafts to do with children, which like everything has its technique.

You have to do the first part. Either split the potatoes in half with a cut that leaves the surface completely smooth and that uses it well, or with a little imagination and the help of a sharp knife, you can create stamps of all kinds of shapes like a star , a heart, a moon, a sun, a flower, letters, numbers or any simple form without too many details. Leave a good piece of potato so that the child has where to take it.

The second part, you can leave them to have fun alone. Put colored paint on some plates so that the seals are wet there and stamped on a sheet. Although you can also go further and use the stamps to decorate walls, pots, picture frames, t-shirts or furniture. But beware, they only last a couple of days.

In terms of creation there are no limits. It can be a simple entertainment to have a good time to become a decorating technique to decorate for example, your room, your toy drawer or whatever you can think of.
