Beware of child restraint systems for cars, some guarantee nothing

European car clubs have examined child restraint systems for the prevention of major damage in the event of a car accident. The result could be classified as lousy, since of the 39 systems analyzed, 12 suspended in security and within these there are some that more than a security measure could be crossed out as an added risk.

In the report presented different models have been analyzed, we highlight the models of chairs that have folding backrest, these have been negatively assessed. The explanation is very simple, the backrest of a chair should protect but also must hold and guide the seat belt so that it is fitted just at shoulder height. A movable seat should protect the child in the same way in a lateral or frontal impact, but the mobility mechanism does not provide the same security against a frontal impact, this is already sufficient reason not to trust this type of seats.

Perhaps the analysis carried out by European car clubs generates some controversy and that is that the chairs are guaranteed with the CE label, a seal granted by the European Union to devices that meet the minimum safety requirements. On the other hand, we also find chairs that provide poor support and others do not even have backrest, we have already mentioned how important this issue is.

We just want to highlight the very satisfactory rating given to the model Maxi Cosi Cabriofix with Easyfix, which according to automobile clubs presents immaculate safety for children.

We will take into account the recommendations made in the report that you can consult on the website of the RACE (Royal Automobile Club of Spain), the safety of the little ones goes into it.
