Matres Mundi, A look on motherhood

In September 1996 it was created Matres Mundi, a ONGCD (Non-Governmental Organization for Development Cooperation) that specializes in maternal and child health dedicated to alleviating and denouncing the situation of motherhood in the world, collaborating with developing countries and with the immigration needed from our country.

Initiative of obstetricians, neonatologists, nurses, midwives, biologists, etc. who work in Spanish maternity schools, have the work of civil society groups and institutions. Since its creation they have developed about 200 cooperation projects in Asia, Africa and Latin America, equipping their facilities, training toilets, sending material and food, etc. For their tenth anniversary they called a photo contest from which they have extracted a book, “A look on motherhood”, Which will be presented this morning at the Eurobuilding Hotel in Madrid by the president of Matres Mundi International and general secretary of the World Association of Perinatal Medicine, José María Carrera. José Manuel Bajo Arenas, president of the Spanish Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics and Eduardo Cabrillo, delegate of Matres Mundi in the Community of Madrid will also attend.
