Kristina Pimenova and the famous children's dilemma

A few days ago we talked about Kristina Pimenova, who is considered by many to be the most beautiful girl in the world, because of the exposure her parents make of her life and because some of the photos that hang from her seem to denote a sexualization and adultization that takes her away. than it really is: a 9 year old girl.

These days it is news again because yesterday I was going to parade on the 080 Barcelona Fashion runway for the Condor socks, leotards and clothing brand and, although in the end it did not do so because of a bureaucratic problem, his only presence gives to retake again the dilemma of famous children: Is it okay for them to do what they like? If they charge, is it a job? If it's a job, should it be allowed? Could they have child exploitation by the parents?

His presence arouses interest

The girl could not parade because one of the permits was missing and this was news in the media yesterday because She is already a famous girl. If any other child had had to see the catwalk sitting down, I certainly wouldn't have talked about it and I don't think I was writing about it. But the girl is already known and the fact that she was in the hallways of the catwalk already made there a special interest.

From Cóndor, as they say in El País, they explain that the hiring of the models is the work of the 080 organization and that this year they saw the possibility of hiring the Russian model, and they carried it out.

Seeing that his non-presence was finally news, those responsible for the brand defended that they did parade another 22 children, who are also the most beautiful in the world and that they all had a good time. In addition, they added that it is only a game, which lasts 10 minutes, that children are treated as children and that they usually all charge the same.

The case of Pimenova is a bit different

Kristina Pimenova is Russian, so she didn't arrive in Barcelona from the town next door. Come on, that although he had paraded 10 minutes, he had to travel from his country and that means a few hours from when you leave home until you enter it again. In reference to the cache, it is true that all charge the same, all, except the figures already known, as is the case with this girl, who charge more.

When charging more, is it still a game? The important thing is that they charge or have fun? Would you do it for free? It is very difficult to position yourself on a subject like this because it is a very sensitive issue. We are talking about children, children who do something and charge for it. Is that a job? Because if a boy parades 10 minutes from time to time, even if he charges, we talk about children who have their children's lives and they do this just to have fun, but if we talk about a girl who travels to different countries because she is hired by the catwalks and it already has a certain cache, maybe we are already talking about "child labor".

But do not children work in the series or the young talents of the sport?

Yes it is. Be more handsome or less handsome, there are children with other talents who also stand out and, therefore, end up generating market, demand and benefits. They just, too, working. Should we avoid it or ban it? No, I don't think so, because there are children who enjoy it. There are children, masters of the ball, who are signed from very young by large teams for doing what they most want in life, kicking a ball. Should we tell them to stop doing it? Or should we reject the possibility of playing in a great team? And in the case of child actors or singers, should we say no if it is what they like and if it is an opportunity, perhaps, to devote themselves forever to that?

The important thing is to allow them to remain children

If a child has a talent and likes to make use of it, if he has fun, if he likes it, must be able to use it. If it coincides that it is a paid talent, then we must ensure that parents do not an exploitation of that talent (parents or the direct environment) and that they can continue to be children. That they do what they do, but that they play, that they study, that they can, as far as possible, lead a life with many other inputs besides those that have to do with their talent.

Now you will tell me that there are disciplines, such as gymnastics or some sports, that require many hours and that sometimes are not compatible with other things. So it is the children who want to spend all those hours or the parents or coaches who make them train so much? Why the last thing a child has to be is pressed to do better. He has to have a good time and, if he stands out, he must find the motivation to move forward or not because, what if he fails? The usual thing is that there are very few chosen to reach fame or success and many who dedicate their childhood to something and do not achieve the expected recognition, and this can be a very hard blow. Many adults who spent their childhood dedicated to a possible future of success they end up missing the childhood they didn't have, because the future has not supposed what they thought it would be. Many, even, end up with serious psychological problems by not knowing very well what to do at the moment they stop doing what they have always done.

Surely many will know the case of Yago Lamela, a jumper of the important, of the best that our country has seen, that when he retired he did not find the north. His whole life dedicated to sports, training and trying to achieve an increasingly long jump, was such his passion and dedication that when he left the sport he felt so empty that it was very difficult to find a motivation to move forward. And he lived the honeys of success, but others did not. That is why it is so important that from a very young age, even though they have a talent, can always feel free to move on or leave it, and that they are encouraged to even do other things, instead of focusing only on "exploiting" their capacity.

Pimenova and her daily photos

That's why I snort when I see the parents of the Russian model pictures of the girl hang daily, because they expose their lives every day and give the feeling that they are looking for the fame they are getting. Come on, there are more parents who work for the girl to increase her fame, her success and the cache that the girl herself (hopefully I was wrong and there is no kind of exploitation in that regard). Also, as I said in the other post, some photos sexualize and adultize the girl too much, and are totally expendable.

Who watches over these children?

I do not know if this is the case, but there are situations in which it is the parents who anxiously seek the fame of their children. They point them to various agencies and have them doing castings every week. From the model agencies explain that this is a mistake, precisely because the hobby ends up becoming work and because a child should not be knocking on all doors at the parents' wish. It is advisable in this sense that they are in an agency or at most two, and that these (one or) two agencies are offering the child according to the clients' requirements. If you have talent, or like it, you will have more opportunities. If not, well no.

But if parents get to be able to offer children to various agencies and manage to target them to so many castings, Who watches over them? In other countries there are regulations in this regard and children have to be able to rest several hours between one job and another, or have a limit per session, because they have to go to school. But what about the money? In principle, money should go to the girl, but there is always a clause that says that parents can use it if necessary to survive, and there must be some important cracks. Come on, as long as parents can have some control over the money a child earns, or in this case, Kristina, exploitation cases can continue to occur. And if they can't touch it because it's money that even the girl won't be able to touch until she is 18, as in some places, parents can very well say that "what you receive is for everything we fight for you when you were little , honey "and claim your share with all" the love of the world. "

Your opinions

As you see? It is a topic with many nuances, because the child's talent is combined, the fun that talent offers and, behind, in the shadow, the economic benefit that entails. For my part, I repeat: as long as it is a child's thing and I can continue being a child, I think it's great. When it is up to the parents, who enter to control the subject intensely to achieve more job offers or pressuring the child to further develop their talent, the subject begins to pervert and the risk to the child's future happiness is evident .
