Following the review of the most striking events that were carried out to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week I present this contest, the King Mamon, held at the Almenara Hospital in Lima, Peru.
The celebration was simple, but with the enthusiasm and desire that motivates working for children. They celebrated the events in the week of August 18-21 with the programming of motivational talk, exposition of slogans alluding to the World Breastfeeding Week and photos.
The central day they made the Kangaroo King Mamon Contest 2009, with the presence of the authorities and the media. Several televisions broadcast the event during their programming.
The mothers and babies who were admitted to the Hospital, using the kangaroo method, were able to compete in this event in which the effort of both was rewarded to make breastfeeding succeed. The queen of this year, little Lucia was the one, and we can see her, so small, hugging her mother.
I hope this contest of King Mamon of the Almenara, as a formula to promote breastfeeding and make it reach society have continuity and serve so that moms have all the necessary support to get breastfeeding.
